My career path
So far, I am planning on attending Michigan State University in the fall of 2015. There, I am going to major in business/marketing and minor in education. Right now I am leaning more towards mathematics. My plan is to become a full-time math teacher for either high school or middle school. The reason why I want to become a teacher is because I feel as though I would be good at it. Something I enjoy doing is helping others, whether it be with school or advice. A lot of people tell me that teaching is in my future, and I believe it is too. Learning and teaching is my strength, and I want to use it to help as many people as I can. With my business degree, I want to become an entrepreneur. I want to start and own my own business. I’m thinking about running a sports store, or maybe a sunflower seed company. I do not know if I want to run a sole proprietorship or if I want to run a partnership with my brother, Suds. I know that teachers don't necessarily make the most money, so owning a small business on the side will bring in a lot of profit. I feel as though I am a good leader, and owning a small business can help put my leadership skills into play. I believe I will be able to handle it all. It will definitely be a lot of work, but I know it will pay off for me in the long run.
the costs
Michigan State University is an expensive school for sure. I am definitely going to be applying for scholarships and financial aid. The total cost for 2 semesters is around $22,450. For four years, that is a lot of money. The total cost for four years is close to $90,000. It will be a lot of hard work, but I know that I will be able to pay off all of my college debts if I stick to my financial plan.

Salary of a teacher
Luckily for me, one of the best states for being a teacher in is Michigan. New teachers make an average starting salary of $35,901 and an average overall salary of $61,560. Based on the amount of schooling results the more income. http://www1.salary.com/high-school-teacher-salary.html
If I were to own my own business someday, it will take a lot of work. At first, I may be in the hole quite a bit, but in the long run it will totally pay off. The average amount that a business owner makes across the country is $74,062 a year. Each state can be different, and based on your amount of experience, the average may go up as well.
